Planting Opportunities: The Utah Initiative
Why Utah Matters
Utah represents one of the most significant mission fields in our region. With an estimated 98% of the population unaffiliated with a gospel-centered church, the spiritual landscape is shaped deeply by the influence of the LDS Church and its impact on culture, community, and public life.
For Converge Rocky Mountain, this reality has never been discouraging; it has been a calling.
For more than fifteen years, we have carried a vision to see lives in Utah transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. A vision where bold, courageous faith becomes the norm rather than the exception. Over time, that vision has taken tangible shape through the planting of churches along key corridors such as I-15 and I-80/84, as well as through partnerships with churches that have joined the Converge family through affiliation.
These efforts have laid a strong foundation. Communities are being reached, leaders are being raised, and local churches are taking root in places where gospel-centered witness has been scarce. And yet, the need remains great.
As we look ahead, we continue to pray and work toward a future where more churches are started and strengthened across Utah, where more people encounter Jesus, and where faith communities are formed that can faithfully serve their neighborhoods for generations to come.
Giving to the Utah Initiative helps make this work possible. It provides critical resources to support church planters, strengthen new congregations, and sustain ministry in a state that presents both unique challenges and extraordinary opportunities. Through prayer, partnership, and generosity, we believe God is continuing to write a powerful story of redemption across Utah.
