Churches Planting Churches

For Those Called to Start

Converge has always been about more than starting churches. At our core, we are committed to multiplication and spiritual reproduction. We believe healthy churches should have an outward focus and a heart for the Kingdom, not just their own growth.

That’s why Converge exists to plant churches that plant churches and to come alongside established congregations that feel called to multiply. The local church is God’s primary plan for reaching people, and when churches work together, the impact reaches far beyond what any one congregation could do on its own.

There are several ways churches can step into this work.

Parenting New Churches

Churches that choose to parent a new church play one of the most important roles in church planting. The support a parent church provides through relationships, prayer, leadership, finances, and encouragement cannot be replaced. This model has proven to be both effective and sustainable over time.

Our hope is to see churches develop their own vision and commitment to parenting new works. Converge walks alongside these churches as a partner, offering resources, coaching, and support to help both the sending church and the new plant thrive.

Partnering Together

Some churches find that planting alongside other congregations is the best path forward. When churches partner together, they share the responsibility, the risk, and the joy of seeing something new take shape. Often these partnerships grow out of existing relationships and networks, where churches already trust one another and share a common vision.

By working together, churches are able to accomplish more than they could alone. Converge helps guide these partnerships so that churches can move forward with clarity, unity, and shared purpose.

Multi-Site Expansion

In many places, churches are discovering that multi-site expansion is a meaningful way to reach new communities. This approach allows a church to extend its ministry into another location while maintaining a shared vision, leadership, and culture.

Converge affirms multi-site expansion as a legitimate form of church planting and works with churches to explore whether this approach fits their calling and context. With the right support and planning, multi-site expansion can open doors to ministry in places that might otherwise be hard to reach.

Church Multiplication Centers

Some churches have the vision and capacity to multiply at an even greater level. Churches that are able to plant multiple churches within a short period of time become key leaders in the movement. These churches often serve as hubs for recruiting, training, and mentoring new planters.

Converge partners closely with these multiplication centers by helping assess and equip leaders, provide coaching, and in some cases offer financial support. Seeing churches commit themselves to multiplication at this level is a powerful picture of spiritual reproduction in action.

Moving Forward Together

There is no single path every church must follow. Whether through parenting, partnering, multi-site expansion, or becoming a multiplication center, each church has a role to play in God’s mission. Converge exists to walk alongside churches in that process, helping turn calling into action so that more people can encounter Jesus through the local church.
